At IAA we are committed to providing life changing education through the arts. Through our programs we strive to offer all students with the technique, opportunities, and mind set required to reach their full potential in the arts and in life. Our dedicated staff of performing arts professionals awaken our student's passion, creativity, and drive while maintaining an encouraging, fun, positive, and challenging learning environment. Dana Armstrong, Executive Director / founder, her passion has always been teaching. Dana holds a B.F.A. in Theatre Education and a M.A. in Theatre Education and Outreach from the University of Arizona. She worked for 10 years with the Live Theatre Workshop, as the Director of Education as well as a Director, Actor, and Stage Manager. She was the site manager and Theatre Instructor for Project Shine, an after-school project placed in four low performing schools in order to raise their reading and math skills. She has worked in a number of schools providing workshops, classes, and full after-school curriculum in the arts. Her teaching philosophy includes a passion for lifelong learning, fun and acceptance in the classroom while creating rich theatre experiences that balance structure and high expectations, with fun and performance.
Mansie O'Leary, Creative Director / Costume Designer, has spent over 15 years as a costume designer. Many of her designs have been seen on television, at Disneyworld, Taste of Polonia, and on the national and international competitive athletic stage. She spends her time designing for competitive figure skaters and rhythmic gymnasts, as well as for the theatre and touring troupes. She had been resident costume designer for The Entertainment Project, and has designed for the St. Sebastian Players, the Evanston Children’s Theater, the Deerfield Family Theater, Gorilla Tango Theater, and Mayer Kaplan JCC Theater. O’Leary attended the University of Illinois- Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, and studied set and lighting design with Micheal Whitfield, as well as costume design under Susan Benson. In addition, her musical studies include nearly a decade of classical piano training, as well as classical vocal training under Gwendolyn Manter-Seminara. For years she enjoyed her time in front of the camera as one of Chicago’s most sought after ear-trained actresses for industrial and training films. For nearly 20 years, O’Leary operated a marketing and advertising firm specializing in high-end residential projects and special events throughout Lake, DuPage, Will and Cook Counties. As executive creative head and producer, she also prepared clients for presentation and testimony. She has won numerous awards for her philanthropic work and team building skills.
Kevin Lucero Less, Creator / Director of IAA Films, with over 20+ years of professional motion picture, television, and stage experience. he graduated BA from the american academy of dramatic arts los angeles california, and was invited into the prestigious conservatory company in 1999. he also graduated BFA summa cum laude honors from the university of arizona school of art in 2003, graduate CMT with distinction from the touch therapy institute at the notional holistic institute Los angeles in 2001, graduate Certification Line Producer from the hollywood film institute in 2013. Further fine art studies at University of colorado, san francisco state university, metropolitan state university, butte college, and pima college.
